MINUTE RE WELCOME AND RIGHTS FOR TRANSGENDER AND NON-BINARY PEOPLE

Saratoga Friends Meeting

Approved December 3, 2023

Saratoga Friends Meeting affirms our belief in the presence of the Spirit in each person, and we welcome everyone. We are dismayed at the current wave of legislation that seeks to deprive transgender and non-binary people of basic human rights and health care. We encourage legislation protecting the rights, safety, and human dignity of these people, as indeed of all people.

Carbon Pricing as a Solution to Climate Change

  • Friends Committee on National Legislation (FCNL) believes that carbon pricing is one of many essential tools that Congress should use to address climate change and shift towards a clean energy economy. In response to the FCNL call to action, Saratoga Friends Meeting sent a letter to our elected officials and to our local newspapers.
  • Resources to help us all advocate for just climate policies to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and promote equitable communities can be found here: https://www.fcnl.
